Desert Gardening Update

One of our gardens got infested with squash bugs last summer. The summer before there were no squash bugs and we were able to grow lots of mellons. This summer all our mellons and squash are infested with squash bugs. We tried neem and soap. We tried diatamacius earth nothing helped. We need a water system with more than one circuit at this particular garden. We have to flip valves to get the pressure manually and have not been around to do this. The other garden on the other side of town has good water flow and no squash bugs. Another garden is growing great as well.

things growing well in early July:

beets

tomatoes

basil

sage

mellons
